Tips for a successfull examination


Examination are said to be the necessary evil of our educational system. The present public examination system left behind by the colonial ruler and strengthen by its successors has caused us nightmares, nervous breakdown. Psychological distress to several of our comrades and the result proved disastrous year after year. The very thought of examination produces anxiety, fear and depression in the minds of the youngsters, that when he becomes an adult, if is unable to forget the trauma of writing examination.

To equip ourselves with a better chance of scoring good grades certain subtle aspects of writing an examination need understanding.
1. A GOOD HANDWRITING IS A KEY TO GARNER MARKS.
No examiner has the patience to find out what exactly has been written if it is written in a bad handwriting. The examines may be inclined to skip reading it. Therefore the first answer should be written in a best manner this is likely to shadow the correction of the subsequent answer by the examiner.

2. ANSWERING IN CORRECT SEQUENCE WILL CERTAINLY GET MORE MARKS.

7. (c) Answer etc. answered by a particular student. This is sure to irritate the examiner as he has to refer to the question paper several times for correcting the answers. Therefore, try to answer the question in the increasing sequence.

3. UNDERLINE THE SUBTITLES:
Underlined subtitles in an answer easily indicates to the examiner the vital components of the answers. These sub-titles may first be listed at the begining and then each elaborated. Leaving a few unanswered questions may render all the hard work in jeopardy. A talented student can certainly write something relevant to even a difficult question for which he had not read. Some answers with relevance are likely to fetch him marks than no answers at all.

4. ADEQUATE LANGUAGE SKILL ADORN AN ANSWER.
Lack of adequate language skill is the root cause of several failures in examinations. A student with good command over the language usually can write examinations with confidence and score high marks. Short and simple sentences renders the answer easily readable.

5. REVISION OF THE ANSWER PAPERS IS REWARDING.
The last few minutes of the examination period should be used for checking the answers. This revision can eliminates serious mistakes, omissions and wrong numbering, in adequate answers, spelling mistakes etc.

6. ARRANGEMENT OF THE ANSWER SHEETS WITH ALL THE ADDITIONAL SHEETS SECURELY.
Before submissions of the answer sheets, make sure that you have arranged them in correct order and not leaving any blank page in between answers as this may take the examiner assume that there are on answers written beyond a blank page.

Lastly bear in mind that your examiner are also humane with their strength and weaknesses. Follow these little rules but if invaluable held.
